Two Weeks Old!

I can't believe Ryan is already two weeks old. I'm sure I'll be saying sometime similar for the rest of his life - I know time will fly by!

We went back to the pediatrician yesterday (January 21st) and found out that Ryan has regained the weight he lost after birth and then some! He weighs 7 pounds and 7 ounces, which is fantastic! His jaundice is just about gone, his umbilical cord has fallen off, and his circumcision is healing nicely - so things are going well!!

We've been settling into as much of a routine as we can - eating every two to three hours and pretty much sleeping the rest of the time...or at least Ryan is sleeping the rest of the time. I've been getting up with him at night and letting Chris sleep (mostly since he has to go to work in the morning!), but have still been able to get some broken sleep at night. That, along with my daily afternoon nap, has been keeping me going throughout the day fairly well. Ryan has been more alert this week, which has been fun. He only cries when he's hungry or if someone is changing his diaper or taking off his clothes...he must be a little shy/modest....not sure where he gets that from.

Here are some of our favorite things about Ryan so far -

• His little tongue - he loves to stick it out and make the cutest faces!
• His man farts - this little guy can break wind that could make a grown man jealous.
• His gassy smiles - I've been told they're not real smiles yet, but they still melt my heart!
• His attitude - he's already flicking us off at times and throws his arms up in the air like he's at a rock concert! Hopefully those aren't indicators of trouble to come :)
