Crabbin'

After our beach time Thursday morning Grandma stayed home with Ryan while Grandpa, Chris and I went off to catch some crabs. I've never gone crabbin' before, but I gave it my best shot.

All you do is attach a chicken leg to a string of some kind and drop it in the water. When the crab starts eating it you slowly pull it up and catch the crab in a net. The crabs had to be 5 inches long to be keepers, so we caught a lot of crabs...but didn't take many home. We ended up with two keepers (both caught by me!), and while that wasn't quite enough for dinner we had a great time catching them!

You don't really have to throw the line like this, but it sure did make it fun! (Until I accidentally let go of the line and the entire line with chicken leg fell into the water...Oops!)
