One Month Old!

I can't believe we've already celebrated Drew's one month birthday.  He's been such a good baby and has been gaining weight like crazy.  At two weeks he was just shy of his birth weight at 5 pounds 15 ounces.  When he went back for his one month checkup (which was actually on his due date!) he was already 8 pounds 15 ounces!  I'm kind of glad he was born a month early if he was going to be that big by his due date.  Here are some other highlights from his first month -

He has already rolled over from his tummy to his back three times while we've been doing tummy time.  I'm not sure he actually knows how to do it, but he seems to be pretty good at accidentally making it happen.  He doesn't seem to mind tummy time though and sometimes even falls asleep.

He is eating 4 ounce bottles every 2 1/2 to 3 hours.  He's not the best at nursing, so we're giving him pumped milk in bottles for now and trying to nurse about once a day.  Most nights he has one 5 or 6 hour stretch between feedings and then goes back to 3-4 hour stretches.  So I'm getting at least a little bit of sleep.  If I time it right and get lucky I can get 5 hours of sleep at a time, but that's only happened once so far.  I think we're heading in the right direction though.

He's a very gassy baby...half the time he can work it out pretty easily (and noisily) and the other half of the time he's kind of miserable.  Normally extra cuddling and burping helps him get through it.

He's pretty noisy...grunting, squeaking, moaning, and much much more.  Because of this he started sleeping in his crib right around three weeks.

For the first few weeks he was very sleepy - we'd have to wake him up to feed him and he'd go right back to sleep afterwards.  After about a month he started staying awake much longer.

He is very loved by his older brother.  Ryan loves to tell me when Drew doesn't like something and loves to hold him, give him hugs and kisses, tell him it's going to be ok, give him his pacifier, and rock him in the bouncer.  All of the kids at Ryan's school know who Baby Drew is because Ryan talks about him so much.  It's cute to watch them together!

Here are Drew's one month stats -

Weight - 8 pounds, 15 ounces (15%)
Height - 20 2/8 inches (5%)
Head - 14 3/8 (35%)

And now for the pictures...
