We woke up on Christmas Eve not knowing that Drew would be coming home that day. We started the day off by making cookies for the nurses at the hospital and our neighbors. Ryan had so much fun using the blender and making his thumb print in the chocolate covered cherry cookies.
Then we got the great news that Drew would be coming home and we started getting ready to go get him! We got home in time to get some pictures of the boys in their Christmas pajamas!
This was Ryan's first Christmas where he actually understood what was happening and we could start so many fun traditions with him. We sprinkled reindeer food in the yard, left out cookies for Santa, and read our favorite Christmas books before bed. And Santa did not disappoint!
Ryan's big gift this year was a homemade train table, which was a big hit! I think it took a while for him to realize that the table was a gift...not just the trains on top of it! But he's really enjoyed the table - it has become much more than just a train table. It's a table for trains, cars, trucks, crafts, laying on, laying under, reading, and much more!
After our family Christmas at the house, Nena, Papa, and Unc Me stopped by to celebrate again! We had such a great day together! About a week later we got to celebrate again with Grandpa, Duddah, Jacki, Steve, Jaden, Jeff, Jenn, and Baby Simon. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures from those festivities...but Ryan and Drew were spoiled rotten with so many nice gifts and lots of fun family time!!
