It's been a while...

Wow...it's been a long time since I've updated. Sorry for neglecting the blog, but I'm back! Here's a major update...starting with Ryan's one year developments. First off, his one year bear picture (which was taken a few weeks late, but still serves its purpose)!
This picture was tough to take, because our little guy does not want to sit still anymore! He's crawling, rolling, pulling up on everything, dancing, walking when he can hold on to your hands, and every now and again he still likes to cuddle! He's also started nodding his head...it's so cute because sometimes when we ask him a question he'll nod his head very determinedly like he's very serious about his answer. We're very careful to only ask him questions where he's supposed to answer yes (like, do you love your mommy?!?!) He has three teeth and has another one breaking through now. We've also gradually been switching him over from nursing/bottles to a sippy cup of whole milk. He's been doing really well and this past week he's stopped nursing all together...which is exciting and sad all at the same time. I guess he's going to grow up whether I like it or not! :-)

Here are his stats from his one year well baby visit -

Height - 28 and 7/8 inches

Weight - 21 pounds, 3 ounces

Head Circumference - 18 and 3/4 inches

Right after his first birthday party we found out that Ryan had RSV and double ear infections, so he spent the couple of weeks after his birthday recovering from that.

The weekend after Ryan's birthday we took a trip to Virginia Beach to celebrate cousin Jaden's first birthday! Ryan had so much fun celebrating and we all had a blast watching Jaden destroy his first birthday cake and open all of his presents! It's going to be so much fun watching these boys grow up together. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures while we were there...we were having too much fun!

The last couple of weeks have been a blur...we've been keeping busy with work, doing things around the house, and trying to keep Ryan healthy. His pediatrician recommended that we take him to an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist because he's had so many ear infections over the last six months. That happened this past week and it looks like Ryan needs tubes in his ears. He's scheduled for surgery on Friday, February 18th. So please keep him in your prayers...it's a quick and simple procedure, but it involves anesthesia...which will probably be scariest for me. We'll get through it though, and hopefully it will result in fewer ear infections as well as fewer trips to the pediatrician!

Those are all of the big updates I think. And now I'll end with more pictures!!
