At the end of January we took our first really big road trip with Ryan. We drove up to Rochester, New York to visit my dad and to celebrate Christmas. We planned for plenty of stops to let Ryan (and us) stretch our legs, so the total trip was about 10 hours each way. We were pretty nervous about how Ryan would behave on that long of a road trip, but he blew us away with how great he was! He played so well with his toys and he never once fought us when it was time to get back in his car seat (which was my biggest fear). There were no melt downs and we only had to break out a DVD for the last hour and a half of the trip (when we were all just ready to be home). What a great kid and what a fun trip we had!!
We had such a wonderful Christmas celebration with my dad! We were all spoiled rotten, including Ryan who got so many toys! He has been loving his musical instruments, choo choo, and legos...he plays with them all almost daily! Here are some pictures of Ryan's Christmas in Rochester...

So excited about his choo choo!!

Chris and I also had a very wonderful Christmas in Rochester and even got a new TV which we were very excited about!!
While we were there we were lucky enough to get some snow to play in! Ryan wasn't sure what to do at first, but eventually got the hang of throwing snowballs and sledding!

Overall, it was such a fun trip, and Ryan loved getting to see his Papa!! Now that Christmas is over, we can return to the month of March :-)
