Dad's Birthday Weekend

We spent the first half of Chris' birthday weekend visiting our friends Andy and Maureen up in Northern Virginia. For the first time ever we were able to make it to their pre-Thanksgiving feast on Friday night. Ryan loved getting to see his friend Adam, and the food was delicious! Ryan even got to taste the Thanksgiving leftovers the next day for lunch. He tried the broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, turkey, and crescent rolls and loved it all! While we were in the area I also got to attend a baby shower for our friends Erica and Greg, who are expecting a little girl. The shower was great, and we can't wait to meet Blake when she makes her appearance in December. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures from our trip to Northern Virginia, but we did get some from the rest of the weekend.

On Sunday we had dinner with Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Daryl at Bass Pro Shops to celebrate Chris' birthday. Ryan ordered his first meal out...mashed potatoes and green beans. He did great with both. Here he is checking out the menu and playing at the table :)
I think he really liked sitting at the table with everyone. He was very well behaved and ate his dinner like a good boy.
Then on Monday we celebrated Chris' actual birthday with presents and a crabcake dinner! Here's Chris with his kids and his presents -
Chris also got his annual cookie cake...just a little delayed this year. We've been so busy that it had to wait until this past weekend. Here it is...sort of looked like a wagon wheel this year, but it was delicious...my best yet!

Overall it was a fun-filled birthday weekend. Chris is such a great dad and husband...we're so lucky to have him!!!!
