Highlights from the past few weeks...

So after our trip to Virginia Beach we got back to life as usual. About halfway through that next week I got the dreaded call from daycare that I have been waiting on for the past few months...Ryan had a fever and couldn't go back until he had been fever free for 24 hours. So we spent some quality time at home together for a little while. He had been sick with a cold for about a week or so, but we weren't really worried until the fever showed up. It spiked to about 104, so we headed to the doctor to find out that he had early onset pneumonia! We got that little guy on some antibiotics and he started feeling better in no time.

Here's me and Ryan on our day off...he couldn't seem to sleep that well in his crib, so I let him take a nice long nap on me. He ended up sleeping over two hours!

The next weekend (July 17th - 18th) Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Thom stopped in for a visit. Ryan was happy to see them and had a great time playing with them while we got a little bit of a break. I didn't get many pictures from the weekend, but here's one of Grandma and Ryan.

Some other highlights from the past few weeks include Ryan's first bath in the tub. He really enjoyed splashing around and playing with the bath toys. But poor Morgan was so concerned about him that she didn't want to leave the bathroom...and our bathroom is tiny, so there wasn't much room for her. Every time we tried to kick her out she would scratch on the door to get back in. She must not think he's ready for the big tub!

The weekend before last (7/24) brought Ryan's first word (or syllable really). He said "da da" quite a few times that weekend, but we haven't heard it since.
