Six Months!

Six months have flown by! We waited until bedtime to take Ryan's six month pictures, and this is what we ended up with...

Here's the best we could get -

He can definitely get cranky when he wants to, but he's still a little sweetie. Here here are some highlights from month six:
  • Sitting up!
  • He's been rolling over more and more these days.
  • No more swaddle! Our first try of sleeping without the swaddle didn't end well - Ryan ended up on his belly with his foot stuck in one of the crib slats. So we had to delay until we could buy a breathable bumper for the crib. Once that was set up he was good to go - slept the whole night the first time! I guess he was ready to leave his swaddle days behind!
  • New foods - he's tried sweet potatoes, squash and carrots so far and seems to like them all!
  • More and more babbling - he loves to squeal, laugh, and talk to us.
  • He has rediscovered his hands. He stares at them and rotates them, amazed at what he's doing.
  • Sensitive skin - our little guy has had a rash for the last month. We thought it was yeast, and then a secondary reaction to cradle cap, and now we're at eczema. So we're changing detergent and soap to see if that helps. We've finally made some improvement, but it took forever!
  • He's more and more interested in playing games like peek-a-boo, which makes him a lot of fun to play with.

And here are the stats from his latest doctor's appointment -

Weight - 17 pounds, 11 ounces

Height - 25 3/4 inches

Head - 17 1/2 inches
